Super Evil Megacorp, the developer of the multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA) built for touch screens, Vainglory, crowned Team Media Pixel eSport from France as the winners of the Autumn Season 2015 European Live Finals.
The 3-day tournament took place from December 11 to 13 at the MCK Katowice in Poland, which is Europe’s largest eSports arena. The competition between the eight top teams in Europe was fierce and exciting until the very end.
The final game was in fact a replay of the first match of the tournament, where underdog Media Pixel eSport (FR) defeated Rebirth of Empire (GER). Despite of the initial loss and placement in the loser bracket, Rebirth of Empire (GER) still made their way to the finals – just to get defeated again by the rallying French, with a clean 3:0 victory. The fight for the 3rd place was a close call for Black Hawk (RU), where they finally triumphed over SK Gaming (EU) with 2:1.

- 4 – SK Gaming (Europe) – $500
More than 650 team applied for the Qualifiers in September, and the top 128 teams in each region made the tournament bracket. The eight teams that qualified to compete for the Autumn Season Championship and prizepool of $15 000 were Rebirth of Empire (Germany), RebelTiger (UK and the Netherlands), Team Snow (Russia), Angry Pandas (UK), Black Hawk (Russia), G2 Kinguin (Germany), SK Gaming (EU), and Media Pixel eSport (France).
The North American finals took place from December 4-6 at the eSports Arena in Santa Ana, CA and Liberation X was crowned as the Champion in the region. The global Autumn Season prizepool is over $200,000, making this the biggest mobile eSports season to date.
It is still early days for Vainglory’s eSports scene, but the game is off to a great start. The next season, Winter Season 2016 kicks off in January, and the season finals will take place in March.
