Paul Chaloner, World renowned esports broadcaster & head of the EIA’s judging panel, had this to say “It’s incredible to see how the awards have gathered even greater interest and widespread support since the first event last year. Already we’ve had thousands more nominations, a deeper pool of talent nominated, more categories and I am sure, plenty of surprises in store now the voting is under way in the first phase. Esports has continued to grow every year this decade and 2017 is no different with more and more publishers getting involved in esports and professionalism from teams and players alike reaching new heights. As they do so, it is only right that we have an industry awards that recognises that talent across a wide array of subjects”.

“We’ve been absolutely amazed by the level of support for the awards this year – we have more sponsors and partners, from across all areas of gaming and entertainment, than ever before but most incredible has been the support of the esports fans” said Tom Mercey, Director & Co-founder of EIA “Already, for only our first stage of nominations, we’ve received over 10,000 nominations which more than doubles the number we received for the whole of last year’s awards”.

Be sure to tune in at 9pm GMT to see how your nominations have shaped this year’s awards and for news on how to make sure your voice is heard in the final vote and stage 2 nominations –
